Five-O-Five Toastmasters Club
“Experience the Magic”

Would you like to improve your public speaking and leadership skills in a Melbourne CBD Location?
Our club is open to all. Our enthusiastic members are professional people from both the public and private sector who can help you gain and expand your communication skills. You will have the opportunity to deliver presentations, receive and provide feedback and enhance your leadership skills by participating in a range of club activities.

Club History: Staff of the State Revenue Office (SRO) formed Five-O-Five Toastmasters Club in 1996 to provide opportunities for staff in the organization to improve their speaking skills and warmly welcomed members from outside the SRO. The club was officially charted in June 1996 as part of Toastmasters International. The name Five-O-Five was taken from the then location of the SRO at 505 Little Collins Street. When the SRO moved to 121 Exhibition Street we retained the original name as the Club had 10 years of history under that name.

Five-O-Five meets 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month at lunch time and provides an opportunity for members to practice the key skills of a competent communicator. The club is open to all interested parties and we have a mix of new members and experienced members. Our focus as a club is on encouraging members to exceed their expectations and to expand their horizons by achieving their full potential as communicators and leaders.

Five-O-Five is a member of Toastmasters International which is a non-profit organisation that provides a vast number of resources to develop public speakers and presenters from novices to professionals. The mission of all clubs is to “provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.”
